Is 'The Last of Us' Headed Towards Becoming a Major Release in 2023?

It has recently crossed 37 million units for the series, and concept art for its multiplayer game has been unveiled. In addition, it will soon be broadcast on HBO.

Naughty Dog, the company that designed the game, has just unveiled concept art for the new multiplayer game, which is timed to coincide with the premiere of the HBO series that is based on the original game. The artwork for the multiplayer mode features a cruise ship.
In a blog post published on Tuesday to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the franchise, Naughty Dog, the company that was responsible for the release of the first game in 2013, shared a photo of the concept art for the upcoming multiplayer game (more on that in a bit).

The piece of artwork depicts what appears to be a cruise ship that has run aground in the middle of a city and has been there for some time, since there are damaged buses and buildings all around it. It appears that there are two people coming closer to the ship.

Neil Druckmann, co-president of Naughty Dog, was quoted as saying that the game "is shaping up to be a fresh, new experience from our studio, but one anchored in Naughty Dog's love for providing fantastic stories, characters, and gameplay."

It is the second piece of concept art that Naughty Dog has revealed for the multiplayer game, and it can be found here.

The first piece of concept art was revealed in June of last year, and it depicted two players with weapons standing on a rooftop and gazing out over a destroyed cityscape that included a suspension bridge in the distance.

The multiplayer component of the first version of the game was referred to as "Factions," and it divided players into two opposing camps: the Hunters and the Fireflies. (The new game is being referred to by many as Factions, after the first multiplayer game that was released in 2013, but Naughty Dog has not yet referred to it by that term.) The objective was to ensure the survival of a certain number of survivors.

In the year 2023, the series will have celebrated its 10th anniversary.
It's hard to believe, but The Last of Us was initially released for the PlayStation 3 back in June of 2013. Right from the beginning, it was a major hit among both critics and fans. It was praised for its plot, gameplay, and especially its horrifying images of a destroyed Earth filled with mutated humans resembling zombies.

The plot of the series revolves around the trip that is taken by Joel, a widower who suffered the loss of his daughter many years ago to a lethal fungus that has ravaged the United States, and Ellie, a young woman who is resistant to the infection. While Joel is trying to deliver Ellie to a group called the Fireflies that is working on a cure for the illness, they run into various terrifying situations.

More than 37 million copies of games from The Last of Us series have been sold.
In the post on his blog, Druckmann disclosed that more than 37 million copies of The Last of Us series books have been sold as of December 2022.

The Last of Us Remastered for PlayStation 4 was launched in 2014, and its Left Behind expansion pack was released in the same year. Both of these games are included in this series, in addition to Part II, which was published in 2020.

In 2022, The Last of Us Part I was made available for purchase on PlayStation 5. In the month of March, it will be available for Windows PCs.

According to what Druckmann wrote, "It propels the entire studio forward to know that so many of you have experienced and loved our complete cast of characters, including Joel, Ellie, and all of our other cast members."

HBO's series debuts on Jan. 15
The live-action series that is based on the game is just about to make its premiere on HBO, and all of this is taking place at the same time.

The series The Last of Us, which will make its debut on January 15, will feature Gabriel Luna and Anna Torv, in addition to Pedro Pascal in the role of Joel and Bella Ramsey in the role of Ellie.
